Valeria & Brady Wedding / Glasshouse, UT

I had the pleasure of shooting Valeria and Brady's engagement pictures initially, and let me tell you, it was one of my favorite sessions this year. They're such a beautiful and easygoing couple. The wedding took place at "Shade Home & Garden Events" in Utah, and the ceremony was incredibly emotional, with their dog taking part as a cherished member of the family.

After the ceremony, we were blessed with some stunning sunset light for their family, friends, and formal shots. It was a brief window, but the results were absolutely gorgeous. I appreciated every detail, especially the in memoriam for Brady's mom, which was extremely touching. Now, let's talk about the party – major props to the DJ, who also happened to be a friend of the couple. The energy and music were some of the best I've experienced. Overall, it was a fantastic time capturing these moments with Valeria and Brady.

Venue: Shade Home & Garden Events (Glasshouse Venue).

Florals: Ivory Jade Floral.

Colorful Backyard WED, UT

My favorite backyard wedding ever! Beautiful energy all around with this couple.

“Ricardo was the perfect photographer for our wedding day! We had a small backyard wedding with outdoor ceremony and reception in Emigration Canyon in june, and he handled all the lighting and weather variables like a total pro! The overall feel of our photos turned out to be romantic and intimate, but still fun and vibrant and he really captured the beauty and joy of our day! Ricardo is also incredibly kind, funny, and puts you right at ease! As a busy bride that had enough on my plate, I appreciated that I didn’t have to provide him with a “shot list” (although he said I could if I wanted to), I just expected him to know what to get photos of, and he did! We just couldn’t be happier with his work. Hire him! You’ll be happy to have had the pleasure of working with a talented artist like Ricardo!” - Monica Walker, (Monica and Peter).

I simply loved sharing with this couple, they already have a friend in me every time they come to Salt Lake.

UTAH STATE CAPITOL WEDDING

Behind the lens, I captured the multicultural union of Alexis and Sione. Their kind personalities and blend of Latino and Pacific Islander traditions made their wedding truly special. From the salt flats engagement shoot to the Utah State Capitol ceremony and lively reception, cultural experiences abounded. The fairy tale-like morning ceremony included children and family, with Sione's son by his side. The reception dazzled with performances like the New Zealand Haka, Caporales dance from Bolivia, and graceful Tongan dances. Alexis's heartfelt Olunga dance symbolized a profound connection and acceptance into the family. This wedding beautifully embraced diversity and honored their unique backgrounds. May their traditions enrich their new family and bring lasting joy.

GAY INDIAN WEDDING, CHICAGO

Finally I get to post this amazing wedding full of color and incredible outfits. Only the Grooms had six outfit changes, YES, six outfit changes.

I was so fortunate to have been contacted by Colin and Andrew for their wedding Indian style in Chicago, a very cool mix of cultures from Indian - American traditions. It was so great working with them and feel instantly welcome by everyone, I met so many fun and cool people during that great weekend in Chicago. Below, there is a description of Friday and Saturday, Sunday we did groom pictures in downtown Chicago.

Suggested song for this post Banno re banno meri chali Sasural Ko.

Haldi/Roce - is a fun ceremony in which a paste of ”Haldi” i.e. turmeric having medicinal values (antiseptic and cosmetic properties), sandalwood paste and, coconut milk (representing the holy spirit and also used to get glow on the face) is applied on the groom’s face and body.

Mehndi (Henna) - On the previous evening of the wedding Henna is applied on the hands and feet of the couple. Henna is a powerful medicinal herb that can prevent stress as it cools the body and keeps the nerves from becoming tense.

Alma che Jevon – Vegetarian lunch that begins with prayer and thanksgiving. Remembering the departed souls and asking for peace at home and blessing from the elders in the family. Served with a desert called Von (made from lentils /tapioca balls/cashew nuts) made specially for the meal. Food is served on banana leaf or dried leaf plate.

Sangeet - Night before the wedding to drink, lots of dance! This was so much fun, I learn some moves and marveled by the groom’s talented friends.

Saturday

Wedding ceremony – customized wedding ceremony - Entry of groom with lamps, then a readings from scriptures and blessing from parents taking vows and pheras (seven rounds around fire).

Formal Reception - dinner, speeches and dance.

Venue Friday: Colin and Andrew’s place and Rose Banquets.

Venue Saturday: Mantra Restaurant and Columbus Park Refectory.

Outfits: Indian, Pune India. Tuxedo Tailor in Mumbai India.
